Before the San mig supper coffe mixer, became one of the famous team in The philippine Basketball Association or the PBA, there was the Purefoods, the original franchise name of the san mig!


Purefoods joined the PBA in 1988, which they acquired the team of Tanduay.
In the 1988-1990 era, the team was composed of superstars which eventually will be line in the PBA Greatest Player. They are The 4rth time MVP Ramon Fernandez who was there playing coach at that time, Jojo Lastimosa who won the rookie of the year 1988, The 4rth time MVP Alvin Patrimonio perhaps the most popular player in the franchise team, which is noe the team manager of the San Mig, Jerry Codinera, popular for his defensive process and was known as the Defense Minister, Nelson The Bull Asaytono, Al solis, Glenn Capacio and Dindo Pumaren. These are some of the Player of purefoods which eventually gives the franchise a top contender in the PBA and perhaps the second most popular team in that era?

Up to now the Purefoods, which is now known as the San Mig Super Coffee Mixers today, The team is owned by the San Miguel Pure Foods Company, Inc. (formerly, Pure Foods Corporation), a subsidiary of San Miguel Corporation (SMC). The team is one of three PBA ball clubs currently owned by the SMC group of companies, along with Barangay Ginebra San Miguel and the San Miguel Beermen. is certainly one of the most popular team today, leading by there Two time MVP James Yap, Marc Pingris and PJ June Simon.
Recently They won A Grandslam Champion, winning all conference of the 2014 Season !!!
